We have recently moved to Delaware and need all new doctors. I am interested in looking into a concierge primary care doctor for DH and I. We are on traditional Medicare. I know the concierge fee is not covered by Medicare and we will pay that separately. I do want a doctor who will file for Medicare on all covered medical services.

Does any know any concierge doctors to recommend or not recommend? I do see that their are a number of MDVIP doctors in the area. I understand there are also some non MDVIP concierge doctors.

Reasons for trying a concierge doctor for at least this year:

We have ongoing medical needs and preventative care that we need to have done. I don't want to have to find a regular primary care doctor and then wait for months for an appointment.

We have need for referrals to specialists for ongoing care. We don't want to have to wait until we finally see a regular primary care doctor to get a referral to a specialist and then wait more months.

I understand the pros and cons of concierge medicine. In an area where I knew a lot of people and could easily find specialists and could see my non-primary care doctor fairly quickly if needed, I didn't see the need for a concierge doctor. But, in a new area, where I know no one and with health care needs that I don't want to wait months on, paying for quicker access makes sense. I will try it for a year and then see if I still need it.
