Just a brief history. I'm in Budapest, got a deep filling a week ago. Hurt a lot days after.

They now say I need a root canal, ok, and that it takes a few visits.

The thing is, I fly back to Dublin on the 2nd August. They did the first treatment yesterday, 30th July.

The next appointment is for the 1st August.

The first visit, they could only locate 1 out of the 3 canals, the dentist said they were very small, and that this wasn't his specialty, and to come back on the 1st to complete the procedure with the more experienced dentist.

From reading up online, I believe you need to leave a few days between visits, if it is complicated, to avoid infection.

Is 1 more session enough?

Should I wait until I return to Dublin, so I can visit a dentist and not rush things?

Or, can the dentist in Budapest complete the root canal in 1 sitting?

Cheers.

Get thee to a good endodontist ASAP.
Don't use the guy who said it wasn't his specialty!!! You run the risk of serious infection.

I'm on antibiotics and pain killers now and going back to the Budapest dentist tomorrow, apparently he is more experienced with root canals.

So, my options are,

To have them do nothing and leave the temporary filling in and have a dentist in Dublin look at it in 2 days

To have them continue with the root canal

To have them just pull the tooth and get a dental implant later on

sounds right.

Yes I am going to do this.

I am flying back to Dublin tomorrow, so, if I was to do the root canal today, and there are any complications, I won't be here.

Cheers for the advice

Be sure to see an endodontist for root canal. When I had root canal (tooth in back with several roots) the endodontist did it in one session & it was very quick. You want a specialist that does root canals all day long & is an expert in the procedure.

Feel better soon.
