How fast is fast for implants?? (dentist, crown, extraction, chewing)

Actually placing the implant takes only a few minutes. Implants "work" because your bone fuses to the implant. This takes roughly 3 months minimum. You cannot chew on the implant until then. Sometimes a temporary crown can be placed on the implant during this healing period. But this temporary crown is for smiling with only, not for chewing with.

I have had 3, and they each took at least that long, one a year. In fairness, that was to wait for the next year maximum to come available. According to my dentist, 4-6 months for the extraction and bone graft to heal, then the implant is screwed into the bone and that has to heal and become stable before the crown is put onto it. I see places advertising one-visit implants and it may be possible but I’d look into it further and as for references of others that had it done. I also see them advertised for $1,999 but mine were $4,000 apiece, which is more typical so I’d be wary of a cheap job.
