I threatened my dentist that I would report them to the Dental Board for poor work which cause me further problems and I had to see a Oral Surgeon to correct.

I had paid out of pocket for the work. I sent a letter to their office saying if they didn't refund my money I would file a complaint.

They contacted me by phone saying they would refund my money....they did.

It is worth it.

Probably a good idea to check the state Statute of Limitations on filing malpractice claims in your state of residence. In Michigan, for example, it's a 2 year window. After that, forget filing a claim.

I remember feeling frustrated when I had a similar experience, and it took a lot of courage to address it.

It's great to hear that your dentist took responsibility and refunded your money after you reached out. Sometimes, standing up for yourself is necessary to ensure you receive the quality care you deserve.

It might be more practical to just post reviews to help others, on sites like Yelp, Nextdoor, and the many doctor/dentist review sites. Just be careful to relate only actual facts, and avoid subjective judgement words like scammer, unprofessional, incompetent that can bring a lawsuit upon you. Many dental procedures have a fairly high failure rate, that's why for some such as implants you are required to sign a disclaimer.
