I had a molar with a cracked root- it had a root canal in it that was cracked too, and I kept getting abscesses that would pop out onto the gum by that tooth.



My dentist pulled it in his office, with only a local, novocaine or whatever it is they use. I can't say it didn't hurt some getting it out- less than it would have, otherwise, but I clenched my hands around the arms of the chair and did my best to think faraway thoughts. It didn't take that long. I took extra strength tylenol and aleve as needed for the pain.

Good luck. I guess you have someone to stay with you if your going under anesthesia? That was my Dentist's requirements. Really you don't need it as I found out. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
