So i went to my dentist due to having sensitivity and pain when chewing on the right lower side of my mouth. She saw no cavities and cracks in my teeth. She attributes the pain/sensitivity due to bone loss and receding gums over the years. I know it was because of me brushing real hard on my teeth. A habit i found hard to break. She recommended i see a periodontist nearby for a procedure called Mucogingival involvement(gingival grafting)...basically gum grafting i think?...also maybe bone graft too.
So she recommended for now to use sensodyne and electric toothbrush instead of manually brushing my teeth since i can't control my brushing. Anyone have this gum grafting done? How much does it cost generally without insurance for like 4-5 teeth? Surgery last a few hours? What is the recovery time? Did you have problems eating for a few days and lost weight? Thanks again.
