Looking for a toothpaste that really works for tartar control. Any suggestions?

I started using Crest toothpaste with tartar control shortly after it first came out. Based on how quickly my cleanings went, it made a significant difference. The dental hygienist I had at the time who saw the before and after concurred. I use updated versions of the same paste today. I know there are other choices out there, but I haven't felt an urgent need to switch. IME, your technique and how much attention you give to the typical tartar prone areas and your personal trouble spots (everyone has some) matters. The best paste on the shelf won't solve the problem if you don't use it properly.
