Hi all! I am from New Orleans and will be visiting mostly the Denver area August 23-30 but also want to explore the surrounding area like Boulder and Estes Park for vacation and needed some recommendations on what to do. I have done googling on what to do, etc. but would like a local's take and not do the tourist trap things that you always see online. I am 32 years old and going all by myself. I have nothing planned or going to be in a certain area I am restricted to so I am open to all ideas near and far. I will have a rental car. This trip is totally spontaneous. I just want to do and see as much as I can. I like to eat (Vietnamese food especially and Korean and Mexican tacos, mediterranean, and SUSHI but open minded to everything like food carts). I also like day hikes, outdoors activities, nice scenery for taking photos, site seeing, parks, tours, museums, window shopping, live music, touring NFL stadiums. Not into clubs and bars at all and not into 4-5 star fine dining where you pay $150 and still leave hungry. Any recommendations would be appreciated! Thank you in advance!!

1. Korean tacos are in short supply.
2. For the best "ethnic" dining advice see Mark T's reviews: https://www.yelp.com/user_details?us...kKLDuqmwqkVi3g
3. This https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/c...ierstadt-trail is recommended.
4. The best sushi in Denver is https://www.yelp.com/biz/sushi-den-denver , but is very expensive and worth it. My daughter thinks it is fabulous. And, she is a foodie.
5. This https://www.georgetownlooprr.com is an enjoyable scenic experience. I loved it.
6. Forget mediterranean.
7. Museums, we have them.
a. Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum Denver Colorado
b. Igniting our community
c. https://www.botanicgardens.org
d. http://denverartmuseum.org
8. Go to a concert at Red Rocks - http://redrocksonline.com/concerts-events/calendar

Try to see one of the Nathaniel Rateliff shows at Red Rocks while you are here. Great live act and the best venue in the country. He's playing two nights while you're here.

Pho 888 in Aurora is our favorite. I'd make a stop if you're driving by on your way in or out as it's near DIA.

The owner was like a Vietnamese celebrity of sorts ages ago and it's the best we've found. http://www.lovepho888.com/

Boulder has the Pearl Street Mall - not sure if it's still nice.

Estes Park has a ton to do! There's shopping, hiking, Rocky Mountain National Park, you can visit the Stanley Hotel, etc.

yes you have to go to Red Rocks for a concert and if you are lucky a thunderstorm will pass by in the distance as you are watching the concert , it is magical. Also dont forget to take adrive up I-70 into any of the mountain towns and Have a micro-brew at a brew pub. ( on a week day )
