Moving here from NY, without car currently, I tried to lookup on Google Maps so far nothing shows up for supermarkets compared to Orchard and next door Araphoe, on the other DH is working at Belleview station. Anyone who lives there can shed some light on Cherry Hills Village?

Many thanks. Excited to move to Colorado!
Phew worried as there are no car options for right now. We are focused on job and school. There are some good school options here though.

The Denver suburbs are very car oriented, so you should start thinking about getting one asap. There are nice grocery stores relatively close to Belleview station- King Soopers, Safeway, Sprouts, Whole Foods - but, as you've noticed they're not exactly walking distance. Cherry Hills Village is upscale (or downright exclusive) pretty, with good schools - and prices to match. Depending on whether you're coming from NYC, pricey NY suburb or somewhere more farther out in NY State, the prices will seem either doable/reasonable - or outrageous.

There’s a light rail stop at Belleview. You are then within a stop or two of many options for groceries. North gets you to King Soopers or Whole Foods. South gets you to Safeway.

The Louisiana-Pearl light rail station will get you within walking distance of the Whole Foods on Washington in Denver. It's about a 5-to-6 minute walk.

Most grocery stores will deliver these days; go to the store website to verify what's available.

The Arapahoe at Village Center Station just south of there has a Sprouts that's about a 5 minute walk from the station. The same shopping center also has a handful of restaurants (Torchy's, Red Robin, Modern Market, Poke City, Teriyaki Madness, Wingstop, Five Guys, and Boston Market). There's also a fast food cluster nearby that has McDonald's, Arby's, Chipotle, Einstein Bros, Good Times, Dairy Queen, and Taco Bell.

There's another shopping center a little further west that has a Safeway, a movie theater, and several bars & restaurants.

The Safeway at Arapahoe would be a hike hauling groceries, but I think the Sprouts is doable.

Thank you all. We lived in downtown jersey city that runs light wonderfully within .4 miles to all the amenities. Hence the worry. But options so far mentioned seems doable until we get a car asap. We hope to love and enjoy Denver as much as NY and Jersey. Many thanks.

I hope you love it here, too, but the sooner you obtain a car the better off you'll be. In the meantime, consider grocery delivery for major shops, as Mike suggested, and fill in the fresh foods with trips to the grocery stores close to light rail. King Soopers delivers, and it's the most popular traditional supermarket in the Front Range.
