I believe the north part of Oak Park (north of 696) would be the best bang for your buck, you have huntington woods on the east side and Berkley on the north side and your kids will be able to go to Berkley schools, it's very safe and you're not paying Berkley or Huntington Woods crazy prices! And you're centrally located to get anywhere easily!

How would you all rate different metro detroit inner ring cities or cities with in 30 min drive from downtown based on Letter rating. I read about the rating of neighborhoods, description below, and wondering how our neighborhood would be classified.

F = Warzone. Gunfire. Law Enforcement doesn't want to be there
D = Low Income. Section 8.
C =Working Class. Blue Collar. Typically great residents.
B = Educated. Engineers. Dual income. High Middle Class.

Interesting review, I did not know Oakland county had that many cities with in it. Interested how there are so many B/C cities. I guess it makes sense

Missed Northville. At least the half that is in Oakland County.

I just grabbed a list of municipalities. I actually forget there is a bit of residential Northville in Oakland, the bulk and the surrounding Township fall into Wayne.

That said, that ABCDF grading school isn't all encompasing. So many communities have variation within various sections and neighborhoods.

Just by demographic make-up of the region we have an abundance of B & C type households.

Actually most of Northville is in Oakland county. A small piece in the south is in Wayne County. (I grew up just outside of Northville and we had a Northville address although we attended South Lyon Schools).

I would put Northville at A.

Your ranking of Royal Oak surprised me Based on rental prices I thought it would be higher, but I do not know a lot about the residential part of royal oak.
