Very little traffic, parking is readily available, hardly anyone around on the streets. Many or most companies seem to be down to a minimal staff. It is kind of eerie downtown.

I haven't been down there since like everyone WFH.

For amusement I was looking at the MDOT traffic cams at 5pm, it looks like traffic on a Sunday morning

My drive in this morning took 10 minutes less than usual. The traffic was at 85 mph 90% of the way in.

About 90% of the GM RenCen workforce is at home.

RE: testing.
Someone on my "next-door" page in the Lake Angelus area posted about testing they underwent at Beaumont.

The highlights:
LIST
7 hrs in line in the car at Beaumont
No access at all to the hospital but there are portajohns
Take your drivers license and insurance card
You must show symptoms to qualify for testing
They test for flu first. If positive for flu, you do not get a Covid19 test
If you progress to Cover 19 test, it takes a couple of days to get your results.

So the streets and parking lots are empty enough to echo if you holler into them, but at the hospitals -- horrid germ factories at normal times but even scarier now -- have lines around the block. And did a "pandemic spreader" use that Port-O-Potty before you did?

I really see no reason to go to the hospital unless you are having pneumonia symptoms. Getting tested tells you what? If you are sick you should stay away from people whether it is Covid 19 or some other virus. Leave the hospitals and testing for people who actually need it, they are not able to help you solve mental issues. They are not going to admit you and can do nothing for you unless you have developed serious symptoms. There is no need to get tested if you are just coughing or have a sore throat. Assume you have it and act accordingly (stay in bed at home). Sitting in line at the hospital only to be told to go home and rest and stay away form others, is only hurting other people who need the hospital. (not to mention if you do not have Covid 19, the hospital is probably the best place to get it).

When you get the flu, you do not run to the hospital for testing to confirm you have the flu (hopefully) you stay in bad and try to avoid giving it to other people and try to get better. I am not going to the hospital unless I get sustained fever for several days or serious trouble breathing. Running to the hospital for silly reason or just to set our minds at ease may and eventually will cause someone else to die and it is on you. They are busy. Do not be the problem.

If having flu-like symptoms, call your doctor first, or one of the coronavirus lines run by the hospitals, like this one for Beaumont: 800-592-4784. See this online site for risk assessment:https://www.beaumont.org/health-wellness/coronavirus

Getting tested, if positive, can let the people who you have been in contact with be aware that they may have been exposed. For high-risk people, that's especially important to know.

You need to let them know when you get sick. not wait 6-7 days for test results to let them know. You will pretty much know if you have it before you get your results. Rather than creating a seven hour wait for at risk or really sick people who actually need to get tested, just assume you have it if you get sick.Warn everyone and Stay home.
