This is so cool...and makes so much sense. Grew up in Dearborn and had no idea. I did know that Dearborn Township was Henry Ford family property that was eventually donated to UM-Dearborn and Henry Ford Community College. If you're coming from East Dearborn on Michigan Ave heading West you pass through the still mostly wooded area of Dearborn Township and then into downtown West Dearborn which is like a different city entirely from East Dearborn just a couple miles down the road.

My son lives in Ferndale within a long walk to Meijer. He loves it there, although he generally does not walk to Meijer.
