I went to Greektown (Pegasus) for dinner, and when I walked by the corner I noticed that a new Italian Restaurant will be opening in this former historical Greektown restaurant "New Hellas". I am Italian, and love Italian food but I guess it will just seem strange having an Italian place in Greektown, at least it fits into the neighborhood a little bit with the Mediterranean feel. It would be even more strange I suppose if it was a Asian restaurant, or worse of all fast food. Another new addition to the Greektown neighborhood of Detroit.

Strange or not, it's always great to hear a new place is opening. I hope it turns out to be good.

I'm still a little peeved that the owner just closed up the place. I mean I can't believe no one would want to buy it. A historic and POPULAR business.

Actually, Pizza Papalis is Greek, Pizza may not be Greek, but I know that the name Papalis is Greek.

It's not like all the restaurants in Greektown are actually Greek.

I wonder what they did with that big dish/bowl at the cash register that held the mints. That thing must have been sitting there for at least 30 years.
