As far as I know the largest concentration of them can be found in Minnesota, specifically St. Paul. I think the Lutherans were large sponsors of them. A common Hmong last name is Nguyen (pronouned "New-en", I think).

You could learn a lot more by posting a question at the Minnesota Twin Cities forum and might even be able to find other threads about them.
Totally correct. I think the Twin Cities area of Minnesota has the biggest community of Hmong too. Quite a few SE Asians in the Gulf region of Texas and into Louisiana and Mississippi too. Some my way as well in Central Upstate NY.

Actually "nguyen" is Vietnamese...common Hmong names are Lo, Moua, Vang, Yang etc.

The highest concentrations are in MN, WI and CA

No, Gran Torino was based off the Hmong gang in Minneapolis Twin Cities. They had a gangland episode about the Hmong gang of the Twin cities.

The largest concentration of Asians is Dearborn area, with mostly Arabs. Technically most of the Arabs are Asian(geography wise).

They moved the setting from MN to MI, though.

Not on U.S. census. They are considered white for some reason.

Yeah, apparently the makers of Gran Torino were paid by Detroit to move the setting to there. That was the one aspect of the film I didn't like, because it was unrealistic. Hmong gangs are a problem in Minneapolis, not Detroit.

Troy is my choice as well. To be specific, there's a large population of Indians (from India) in Troy.
