This is a great video that outlines a study between ultra processed foods and the effects of it on our health.

That's a great video. Dr. Greger is an entertaining and educational speaker. He takes what could be a dry topic and makes it fascinating.

Our family tries to stick to "one-ingredient" foods such as an apple versus apple juice. Or a baked potato versus potato chips or French Fries.

If a food label ingredient list reads like a chem lab, we avoid that ultra-processed food.

Why do we do this? Because our lives (and health) depend on the quality of food we consume.

Junk food equals junk health.

I always find it fascinating people watching in grocery stores. For sure, I get one or two junk food items. Right now I'm on a kick for these churro plantain chips. So good. I keep the junk down though around 10% of my caloric intake. I can't even imagine half of my calories coming from sodas, potato chips, ice cream, corndogs and whatnot. That honestly doesn't even sound appealing at all and I'm definitely a sucker for a bag of Cheetos. It's just junk overload. Back from a 3 week backpacking trip and it is unbelievably nice to have real food again.
