I need some help here. I got this little dog from the pound and I can not figure out what she is. She is about 15 pounds and her height is about pug size. Her official breed from the pound is spaniel mix. I can guess any large breed mutt but haven't had any small dogs except for my wiener/jack russell mutt. We are thinking maybe Pomeranian & Papilon only before she has these long hairs on her ears like a papilion and she stands on her back legs and does thing that poms do, but I have seen other dogs do it as well. Whatever she is, she has the best temperament. Give me some guesses!

I see some Golden Retriever in her. Look at the color of her wavy coat on the back, as well as the feathery look to her fur. What an adorable face - she's a cutie!
Through all my years in rescue work and my current job working at a boarding kennel, I can be pretty certain that Spaniel mix is quite apt.
Now to let you in on a small secret, there might be more than two breeds in her. When a female is impregnated there can and often times are more than one sire
Her folded ears are not indicitive of a Pappillon or Pomeranian, more like that of a Border Collie. Her tail remind me of a Spitz breed, at least from the angle. Also from the angle she looks taller than a Pug should be.
Not matter, she looks like a sweetheart!
In the words of a local veterinarian; "part dog & part neighborhood"
You guys got to think smaller. She is 11 inches tall. The picture isn't good on showing her size. I know she could have one or more large breeds in her but there has to be some smalls breed in there somewhere. Thanks for what you have so far. Her name is Penny btw. My son named her pee pee and we had to find something that rhymed with peepee.
This might sound weird, but I'm seeing Chihuahua and Cocker Spaniel. There's something else I recognize, but for the life of me I can't think of what! Maybe Pekingese? I'll have to get back to you after consulting my dog book...
I also have a "mystery mutt", and have been trying to figure out his breed since I got him (January '06)... the shelter had him listed as "Shepherd/Terrier", which is about as generic as you can get! Still don't know what the heck he is, but he's a cutie - and so is yours!! Aren't mutts the best?
Hmmmm... maybe I'll start my own thread to get input on my dog.
