it sucks as a currency .it is far to volatile . you can buy a bunch of socks and an hour later find you paid a thousand bucks in value for them lol .

currency needs to be stable so you know what you are paying .

Popular? I have never bought anything using crypto currency. Don't know anyone who has. Don't know any stores that will accept them. More imaginary than popular.

It doesn't hold its current value (i.e., way overvalued) because the decimals are too many (research satoshis) For example, instead of 22 Million finite bitcoins, which people are buying thinking the limited number will make it valuable going forward, people can actually buy only decimals of it.

So, 22,000,000 with 1 decimal makes it 220,000,000 units; 2 decimals makes it 2,220,000,000 units and so forth. Not really uncommon is it?

Question is when will people realize this?

Of course to transact, you have to have decimals but does the volume of decimal units out there justify the price? The more the supply, the lower the price right?

It is sensation.. or possibly fraud... think of it, bitcoin is issued by a private company owned by a Japanesely named folk? Is anyone regulating it? No one! Thus they can issue as many coins as they want! Well, federal tells you they printed 100 stacks this year but 150 stacks actually printed(It just a example).. So If I were Satoshi, I would make the bitcoins price go crazy, because I am holding tons of them! Possibly he succeeds and well promoted his stuff with any other finance group. So please think of 150billion market cap (This is what and where I read from: www.citicoins.com) that in his hand!

Actually the government has been saying the exact OPPOSITE of what you just said. They are fairly supportive and said they don't want to stifle innovation. Many major investment banks are also making plays in the crypto space.
