Hyundai is offering significant discounts on leasing for Ioniq 5 - e.g. SEL trim at $229/mo + $3500 at signing, and Ioniq 6 - e.g. SEL trim at $349/mo + $349 at signing. These are $50k cars. I gotta admit, it's tempting!

Between the low leasing price, and the low operating cost, this is some of the cheapest transportation you can get in a new car these days.

I really like the 5. When I was looking to buy I couldn’t seem to find one to even look over locally. And the only available options were the most expensive trims, over 50k at the time. Had to get on a list to reserve. Got a Tesla. But I still would like to test drive the Hyundais.

Pro-rates to $45k for 10 years. That is not bad all things considered.

Almost tempting just to "rent" an EV two years to see how I would like owning one. Too bad I am in an apartment with no EV charges. I would have to charge off site and get a tow if I forgot to charge and let the battery run down. Mostly it is just I could not take advantage of low electric rates when you plug into your garage. I would have to pay the rates at super charges out of the home.

Still tempting just to get exposure to EVs. There are several Teslas in my apartment so they don't seem to have any problem charging or paying for it.

Are Huynday EVs as easy to steal as their ICE cars? Just wondering. You hear about Kias and Huyndais leading the car theft lists.
