I got rid of cable and stream TV and pay for internet. Then I bought the Roku devices that plug into the TV and signed up for Sling Blue so I can watch and record my favorite channel which is Turner Classic Movies. Sling Blue comes with other channels as well though I rarely watch them.

I pay $10.00 extra a month for Netflix and $2.99 for Hulu. I get Amazon Prime for free because I'm a prime member.

So keep the Internet as that's all anyone really needs.

I guess TV goes since I can watch what & want & do more on the computer if I had to.

The only thing is, I can't be all snuggly on my comfy sofa when sitting at my computer.

That's a toughie for on the face of it, I might say TV because TV is without new information while the computer is there to provide answers.

BUT......even in my communication blindspot world, the TV is rather necessary, to provide a non alcohol method of relaxation.....if the selection is right.

What Genie did I get angry, the Blue Gin?

Just stream the shows on your TV.

If we are talking TV CHANNELS, then TV goes. My TV has been nothing more than a monitor for my DVD and Blue Ray players since 2003. But if we are talking TV as in the actual pysical TV, then nothing goes.

**** the rules.....

Right, I do! I never got rid of my TV. I'm just answering this thread's question.

I'm just saying that since the OP is asking, I'd get rid of TV, but I wouldn't want to sit up & watch shows from my computer.

But that's what some are saying. Unless your devices are archaic there's still no need to watch shows on your computer. You can transmit content the computer (or a phone) receives from the web to the TV via wireless router/Bluetooth. All the TV ends up being is the monitor for the other device. Been that way for a number of years now.
