Going to Rome in July? Make sure the place has a/c. A remarkable number of places in Rome do without a/c. Usually Rome has comfortable temperatures, but in July it can get hot.

Italians don’t mind having the temps in their apartments/homes/restaurants/businesses/etc being that of the ambiance, but that’s those Europeans. Americans, even those of Italian descent, are spoiled. Hotels, stores, etc without a/c is unheard of in the USA. In places like Florida a/c is universal, practically found everywhere you go. In Italy (and much of Europe for that matter) it can be a shock for some that go in the summer and once there come to the realization that a/c isn’t as common as in the USA.

I’m the type of person that can deal without a/c throughout the day, but there must be a/c when it’s time to sleep!
