I finally thought of something worth asking. What were your clothing sizes at 18, and what are they now?
You don't have to answer with specific numbers (or at all) and can use bigger or smaller in specific categories, such as pants and dress shirt. If you're not 20 yet, you probably shouldn't bother replying.
If anyone is confused, wait a little while, and I'll give my own answer as an example.
I was a size 10 at 18 yrs old and now a size 2/4 at 71. Same weight and height. The label calls it a smaller size today. What was a size 10 fifty years ago is what they call a size 2/4 today.
I don't remember my size at age 18. I clearly remember my weight. I was a miserable 90 pounds from dieting and running year round even in upper Midwest snow and cold. All the girls in our high school wore small knit sweater mini dresses and if you had any weight on you, you were brutally made fun of. We were all in track and not because we loved to run.
High school consisted of being hungry and trying to function.
I am now a comfortable weight and wear a small petite range but nothing like high school I am sure.
18/then pants size inseam the same as now and waist size probably also the same (waistband often looser, possibly per size inflation) now/many years later
18 years old, 1968, high school. I was a size 7 dress and thought I was fat (and wore a girdle because I was "so fat!"). Had only a couple pairs of jeans, as we girls were not allowed to wear any pants in school (or church), but do not remember sizes. Nor weight. NOW...2 kids & a life time of southern cooking later. I am a size 14. And I have no problem with it! (Chunked the girdle after discovering capris. Hideous panty & girdle lines & bulges!
I am about 1 size bigger now, proportionally a bit different. I have a non-stretch skirt from age 21 or 22 that sometimes fit, sometimes doesn't depending on where I am in the year and my yearly hormone cycle. Winter really screws up my system these days.
At 18 I was a athletic 185. Now at 50 I am overweight and have type 2 diabetes. Been exercising for the last few months, have lost 20lbs and got my diabetes under control.
I am 49 and weigh about 5 lb. less than I did at 18, but I'm also less muscular and my figure changed somewhat after having babies.
At that time, I was a "medium" or size 8, today I'm a "small/extra small" or size 2. Yes, the meaning of size numbers has certainly changed.
