Why almost no entirely braided belts? (brown, light, braids, look)

I've always been a big fan of leather belts that are braided all the way to the end, partly because they let the wearer adjust the size down to the quarter inch or even smaller. Different pants/jeans may sit slightly higher or lower on the waist and sometimes it's nice to be able to fine tune one's belt size accordingly.
I have one fully braided belt that I bought around 1993, and I used to have one other that I bought around the same time.
Since then, whenever shopping for belts Ihave ALWAYS looked for fully braided belts, but I have NEVER found them. Not a single time ever. Oh sure, there are braided beltd out there, but jnstead of the braids going all the way to the end, it's just a leather strip with the standard five holes, one inch apart.
Why is this? Do people despise braided belts for some reason?

Labor.
I have a hand tooled belt ( 1/4 inch metal stamp, each stamp designed is hammered into wet leather) paid $35 some 25 years ago. Beautiful design. I needed a new belt for my larger waist, a couple of swiches , taking 30 seconds to do, $65.
That is the preferred belt in our family, too. We have to look all over the place and rarely find them, but we have occasionally found them at places like Target (most recently a year or so ago there).

I'm with you as I'm pretty skinny and can never find a belt that actually fits.
Always on the hunt for a braided belt in every store I've shopped in.
I finally scored in Belk's when I found 1 brown and 1 black 100% braided belt.
I will cherish them and treat them with care because they are so rare in stores.

They were nice in the 1980s - along with those strange cloth ties that were straight on the bottom. Anyone remember them?
So, I'd look in thrift shops. I agree with the year - early to mid 90s was the last I saw of them.
