I know plenty of SDA's who drink. Not, however, at church functions. It is frowned upon, typically, though, that is very true, although a small segment seems to debate whether drinking = "drunkenness", and so forth.

No, they certainly are not non-denominational, but it was a very large concentration of African Americans, and I figured if nothing else the OP could socialize/make connections, if they were looking for other AA families.

"SDA strictness" varies greatly from church to church, with some being "very strict", and others terrifying said strict churches, lol
i can't debate you based on your attending many 7 day adventist churches, but I can assure you tone of the churches strict policies is no meat: Of course some will, the same as some Mormans drink and some Catholics use birth control, but I find it almost impossible to believe a 7 day Adventist church would serve meat in the church itself, regardless whether they are strict or more liberal in their views. And yes, I am sure some do consume booze, but again, this is against the basic teachings of the church. This is my point, not whether some members do and some don't.

Hello! Did you end up finding somewhere to attend?

No point in asking the OP, not only have they not posted,
they haven't logged onto the site in almost 6 years.
