Greetings,

I'm going to be as clear as possible. It's very frustrating have responses asking for more info when one is in pain, so I hope to avoid that with a list of symptoms. Please read carefully before replying with questions about my condition.

"It feels like I inhaled water through my nose," is the closest I've come to hearing it described correctly.

Every year, my brother and I both have this condition once or twice in the spring and once or twice in the fall/winter. Three to four times a year.

We wake up one morning, and the feeling in the nasal openings in our THROATS have that raw, burning feeling like after you inhale pool water.

Throughout the day, the pain and irritation grows to a severe level that inhibits drinking and eating. It's uncomfortable to even swallow, talk or breathe.

Sleeping makes it worse, as it seems to dry out the throat and nasal passages and elevate the pain.

Let me be very clear: This. Is. Not. A. Sore. Throat. My face is not sore. My ears are not sore. The sinus in my cheecks and nose are not sore. It's the NASAL OPENINGS IN THE TOP OF THE THROAT.

Symptoms
- pool water inhalation burning feeling that increases and lasts 36 to 48 hours.
- end of day one = fever, chills, aches
- days three through six = severe runny nose & sneezing

Please do not suggest that this could be
- Sore thoat
- Common Cold
- Flu
- Sinus infection
- Sinusitis
- Rhinorrea (sp?)

NONE of these conditions accurately describe this crap.

If you have trouble understanding, inhale water up your nose, feel that horrible scratchy sandpaper-esque burn in the upper throat and nose, and imagine that for THREE DAYS.

There are only two people on the planet that I know of who has this crap: my brother and I, and NO ONE can seem to diagnose it.

In all seriousness, have you seen an ENT specialist? If the syptoms are as rare and specific as you mentioned its very unlikely you will find answer here.

Doctors can't diagnose this? A competent EN&T doctor ought to be able to diagnose this problem. I'd go to the doctor and pay to see another doctor if necessary until one of them correctly diagnoses the problem for you. And then proposes a valid solution. I wouldn't wait on this - I'd do this TODAY.

Gee I love my time on the computer mostly in the mornings but I would not want to spend all my time, posting useless information or just playing to be playing. Sounds to me like many of the TROLLS which I do believe this poster is needs to find a better way to have fun.

HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND ENJOY THE REST OF THIS YEAR.
