We want a small town feel, we live in Ft. Lauderdale FL. I want to know my neighbors, make some friends, play some recreation sports, also want to be able to have a nightlife as well? any suggestions?

Fayetteville has THE nightlife in NWA. Everyone in Rogers goes to Fayetteville for nightlife.

Depending on traffic, about 25 minutes.

I am 30 and just moved to Rogers after spending 8 miserable years in Chicago. I work in Fayetteville. It usually takes me around 25-30 minutes in rush hour to make the commute. I would recommend moving to Fayetteville unless you get a job with Wal-Mart. Fayetteville has much more character and rolling hills whereas Rogers is pretty flat. Rogers also has a lot of new subdivisions with no trees and houses built on 0.25 acre lots. Fayetteville on the other hand has all types of housing as well as entertainment. Either way, you will love NWA as the people here are very friendly and welcoming to transplants. I have only been here for 4 months, but I think I have found a place to finally settle down,...assuming I don't melt in this heat! Man it's hot!

The living expenses are extremely cheap. A house with 1500 square feet, 3 bed, 2 bath with marble and granite would go for around $300,000 in Chicago, whereas you can find one here for around $130,000.

well that sounds great we'll see what we can find down there. well up there i guess... but it will be nice to see some greenery again. moving to florida was a big mistake. we want to have a small town feel again with nice people that mostly speak english. how is the weather there year round? does it really snow there much in the winter if any?

A lot depends on jobs and what you really are expecting. I would guess Fayetteville might work better, but both are great towns, both have lots of fun things and are close together..

Fayetteville's a college town. There's tons of younger people, both students and ex-students who decide to hang around. Based on what you've said, there's no question Fayetteville's a better fit for what you want. That being said, you really could live in any of the major towns in Northwest Arkansas and be close enough to take advantage of the cultural and recreational offerings in Fayetteville -- Springdale, Rogers, and Bentonville would all work. Springdale has a pretty significant Hispanic population these days (and it's growing throughout the region) so if that's a concern for you, it'd probably be the least attractive of the bunch -- actually, in many ways, it's the least attractive even if you leave ethic mix out of the equation.
