Would a dead fog in a can of beans make you stop eating beans for good?

News, Frog found in can of green beans

SOUTH BEND, Ind., April 29 (UPI) -- An Indiana woman said she received a $50 refund from a canning company after discovering a frog in the green beans she served her family.

Gloria Chubb of South Bend said she bought the house-brand can of beans at a Meijer store and took it home to serve to her family, WWJ-AM, Detroit, reported Monday.

It would make stop eating that particular can of beans !

But no it would not put me off beans in general ! Statistically I would have thought the chance of it happening again would be pretty much nil.......

It depends - was it a bull frog or a poison arrow frog?

I once found a huge hornworm in a can of stewed tomatoes - after I had eaten two of the tomatoes. Now I make sure there isn't a hornworm in the can before I start eating them.

Well, that can would be history. But, yeah, I'd still eat beans.

My sister opened a can of corn once, and found baby potatoes. Used to have a pic, but I'm pretty sure I deleted it.

That at least makes some sense. Hornworms eat tomato leaves. I'm still trying to figure out frogs and beans, though. In any case, I rinse canned beans thoroughly first so I would never have taken a bite before knowing there was something with legs tucked in there.

I once found a piece of glass in a glass jar of pickles. I could tell that it was along the rim; it was about an inch square. I didn't stop eating food from glass jars nor did I call the food company or a lawyer hoping for a windfall. Another time I found a plastic clip used to close bread in an omlette. I mentioned it to the waitress who was horrified and told me she'd bring another but I assured her it didn;t matter.

But did the woman really find the frog in the green beans or did she soak a dead frog in green beans? There have been a number of phony claims. This is likely someone who was looking for a lawsuit. When she heard about the person who'd sued because he'd spilled hot coffee in his lap she was probably jealous.

Wouldn't put me off beans forever...that would be impossible. But that particular can? You betcha! I don't really eat canned vegetables, more fresh or frozen...would really not want to find a frozen frog in the bag of green beans either...

They are a delicacy, but I believe they should be cooked fresh, not canned.

Most probably! I am scared sh*tless of frogs and it would probably traumatize me to the point of never eating beans again. (or at least a very long time)
