Thinking about a move from Broward to something less busy, more quiet, more old Florida style. Would love keeping a boat on a canal for quick Gulf access. Became aware recently of this area. Surprising really since I have lived down here 40+ years. I know zero about the island though. Almost moved out to Punta Gorda a few years ago but job constraints did not let it happen. Would be looking for a canal home around 1mil. Can some of you share your thoughts on Pine Island? Bokeelia or St. James City or somewhere in between? Pine Island Realty? Restaurants and bars? Fast food (hopefully not too many of those). Thanks!

Take a drive over the alley and spend a few days visiting the island.. that way you’ll get a a feel for it and you can answer your own questions.

Pretty isolated but peaceful.You may get tired of driving to Cape Corsl or Ft Myers for health care,major shopping and restaurants.Your budget will get you on in nice canal home in SW Cape
