We are thinking of making the move to the Fort Myers area on a full time basis. We've been there during the season and love the area. We are thinking about purchasing a place in one of the communities along the 6-Mile, Daniels, Treeline, Gateway area. I'm interested in what life is like in the "resort" communities during the off-season.

We've seen communities like Paseo, Pelican, Colonial, Bridgetown, Reflection, etc. at their peak. But what are they like when the winter crowd leaves? Are the amenities still open and functional? Is there a way to find out what percentage of these places are occupied in the summer?

I'd really appreciate and insight or pointers to resources to investigate further.
