Do you think that the contractor realized that it was going to be a deal killer after seeing the property and therefor wasn't in any real rush to get back to you?

This was a free estimate for work on a property that you don't even own yet, right?

That must've been a large dock!!! Mine is 250 sq ft with a premium composite decking and didn't run quite that much! Who the heck did you have quote it?

Aquamarine Construction. Still waiting on American Marine and one other.

Never heard of either. Look up Honc Dock & Lifts out of Cape Coral. A lot of people also use Charlotte County Seawalls for docks, but I think they're work and materials are sub-par.

That's really not that much considering. First time looking at waterfront properties? If you're at all handy, you could just get someone working in the area to drop in the piles for you and do the rest yourself.

Wrong, you may have to be permitted by the County and maybe signed off by the State/environmental etc etc
