CapnRn, got any water in Lake Travis with all the recent rains ? I understand boats down there are just about on land nowadays.
Most of the single guys up here who live on their boats have gone through a divorce and trying to recover. Good place to save a little money & make new friends.
Also there is no property taxes on boats that we homeowners pay.

The lake is 34' below normal, but the center channel is 100-250 deep so still plenty of water for boating and to keep the slips afloat.
Boat owners can be charged property taxes in Texas by the cities and school districts. But most of those don't have the staff to take the time to find out who owns the boats so they rarely get around to sending out a tax bill.
Who are you thanking? Your post makes no sense to me.
I don't know what that guy was laughing about, but reading your post I was laughing also, thinking, "Of COURSE Captain Ron would love living on a boat, he stole Martin Short's family (including the hot wife and daughter) from him while living on a boat with them..."
If any of you like reading about yachts of the Golden Age....this vessel just arrived in town for charter work. She was one of the first diesel yachts...
Note the "maiden voyage" part. (Rich guy builds yacht hoping wife will enjoy it. Rough water and mama gets thrown off the couch....goes ashore and never comes aboard again! LOL)
My brother spent $10,000 / month to live on his boat... that isn't cheap... seems as soon as marine is applied to a part the part costs 10x more... sucks but that's why they say the definition of a boat is a whole in the water you throw money into.
