Our friends own property in the Flathead area of Montana and they invite us up during the summers. It is such a beautiful place and Glacier National Park is jaw dropping. It truly is a must see park. The Canadian Rockies are just beyond the border and are stunning also. It sure is a different pace of life compared to Southern California too. I consider So Cal pretty laid back for a major metro area, but it still is a metro and comes with all the craziness of it. Montana is such a peaceful retreat where people take there time and could sit and talk for hours. The wildlife is amazing too! Our friends actually have sold their house here in California and moved to Montana full time since our last trip.

I dont think a single state even remotely stacks up to what Alaska has to offer as far as natural beauty goes. However, Ive never been to a single state where I DIDNT find some gorgeous areas, it all depends on how you view things.

I think Colorado is a very pretty state--My mom is from there and we use to go to little towns all over.

These are not my pics----

Well, I'm still in the beginning phase of exploring the west, so I can't comment on any of the Northwest (including NO Cal), Alaska or Hawaii. So for now, I will say the most beautiful states that I've been to are Colorado and Montana. I also love northern New England, but it's a different kind of beauty for sure. Northwestern WY is also gorgeous.
