^^^ Athens is better than Rome. How you inferred that included Valdosta is beyond me.

And yes, Rome is a step above both Dalton and LaGrange. Ever heard of the Rome Braves?

How are you confused...The poster you responded to stated that Athens and Rome are the leading 3rd tier cities....Athens would be the largest third tier city I assume but I wanted to know how Rome is ahead of Albany, Valdosta and Warner Robins...

And I grew up in Rome, the Rome Braves doesn't put it ahead of Dalton, maybe LaGrange. In fact, Dalton's MSA population and Metro GDP is higher than Rome's.

I would put Rome right before LaGrange but not before Valdosta, Albany and Warner Robins.

He asked Rome VERSUS Athens. That's what I answered.

LaGrange is roughly the same as Statesboro, both city population and county population as well.

I've never been to LaGrange before, but if they have certain retail stores that Statesboro doesn't have, I sure as hell would be jealous!

They have a real mall. And. a great downtown. Lots of beautiful neighborhoods with big old southern mansions. Plus a gorgeous city park with stadiums, art museum, performing arts center, indoor pool; etc.

Lagrange is a nice town.

Not sure if they have more than Statesboro. But Newnan and Peachtree City right up the road both do.

Eh I was referring to more chain stuff, like Target, Best Buy, Home Depot, as well as more upscale restaurants like Outback and Red Lobster, all of which Statesboro doesn't have.

Though by looking at LaGrange on Google Maps, it looks like they don't have any Targets or Best Buys either, and have only 1 Super Wal-Mart like Statesboro.

Well, if this is really bothering you that much you can Google those places and "Lagrange Georgia" and find out whether they have locations there or not. I know Lagrange has a Home Depot, Lowes, etc. and pretty sure they don't have a Target or Best Buy. They do have Longhorn and Ruby Tuesday, no Olive Garden or red lobster.

Downtown Lagrange really cool. They have a lot of upscale shopping and restaurants downtown that other cities its size could only dream about. it's a very classy little city.

No one wants to live in Albany anymore, and Valdosta is getting the same way. La Grange is nice, and Newnan is very close. Newnan has big name stores.
