moving to georgia maybe (Atlanta, Savannah: home, to buy, movies)

Hello everyone we are looking to relocate to a different area. My husband is from wisconsin and I am from NJ young ages 37 and 42 married no children currently living in colonial park (harrisburg Pa). We like it alot but no a place to actually retire from. We both have good jobs and looking to buy in a different state. Looking to do this around the end of this year maybe next year. As far as our budget runs $250 to $320k. We are looking for a rural area around this price range with minimal neighbors and a nice size yard for our small dog (1 acre). We are friendly couple who likes our privacy. We prefer 35 to 45 minute commute to large area for anything. We enjoy nightlife (movies, concerts, amusements, jazz clubs, nature itself). Quality healthcare is a plus and we have conservative views. Any towns that are diverse is also plus. Any ideas???

Gainesville and surrounding Hall County are one of the first places that come to mind.

Gainesville is a conservative, yet diverse, prosperous exurban community that gives one access to both the metropolitan and urban amenities of the greater Atlanta metropolitan area to the southwest and the outer-exurban and rural amenities of the Blue Ridge and Southern Appalachian Mountains region of North Georgia, Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee and southwestern Virginia.

Gainesville is also home to a large regional hospital in Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Other exurban greater North metro Atlanta and North Georgia communities like Cumming (Forsyth County), Canton (Cherokee County), Dawsonville (Dawson County), Dahlonega (Lumpkin County), Jasper (Pickens County), Cartersville (Bartow County) and Dallas (Paulding County) might also be options to take a close look at.

Gainesville and Hall County, Forsyth County, Canton in Cherokee county and Cartersville in Bartow county are good choices. All less than an hours drive to downtown Atlanta

If Atlanta isn’t your area, Effingham County in South Georgia outside Savannah meets your requirements. The small towns of Springfield and Guyton as well as Rincon are there. 15-20 minutes to Pooler for most stores and 30-40 to Savannah for the night time entertainment and major health care. Plenty of things to do and you can be rural but close. Close access to Interstate 95 and Savannah International Airport keeps you close to anywhere you want to go. For your price range, you should have multiple options. Please let me know if you have any specific questions.
