I totally believe it. The Hyundai plant is bringing 8,100 jobs to NW Bryan County -- just miles from Savannah, and a few more from Hinesville and Statesboro. Bulloch County -- and Statesboro -- will be transformed.

Except Hinesville is cut off by Stewart. I am quite sure Hinesville will still experience growth, but those on fire spots will be Pembroke, Guyton, Bloomingdale and Brooklet.. and areas nearby.

Yes, those smaller Bryan and Chatham towns will get the major brunt, but there will be much more commuting north from Hinesville after 2024. A merged "Savannah-Hinesville MSA" (well over 600,000) is very possible in 10 years. When a total 100K new jobs are announced for a 2nd-tier city, it has to be totally transformative. The larger SC and NC metros would have loved to get what Savannah just landed.

Seohan Auto Georgia, a maker of automotive parts, will bring 180 new jobs to Liberty County, the governor just announced. The economic reverberations from the new Hyundai plant continue apace for Savannah and Hinesville. Also, my last post should read 10K jobs, not 100K. The first figure is "transformative" for the region; the second would be downright scary.
