Favorite small college town in Georgia?

I mean place like Barnesville and Cochran that happen to have colleges.

In addition to Barnesville (which is home to Gordon State College) and Cochran (which is home to the Cochran Campus of Middle Georgia State University), there’s also:

> Americus, which is home to Georgia Southwestern State University…

> Tifton, which is home to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College…

> Douglas, which is home to South Georgia State College…

> Demorest, which is home to Piedmont University…

> Toccoa, which is home to Toccoa Falls College…

> Cleveland, which is home to Truett McConnell University…

> Dahlonega, which is home to the Dahlonega Campus of North Georgia State University…

> Waleska, which is home to Reinhardt University…

> Young Harris, which is home to Young Harris College…

> Oxford, which is home to Oxford College of Emory University…

I guess that Oakwood, which doesn’t really have a historic small town downtown core and is really more of a commercial suburb to Gainesville and a commercial exurb to Atlanta, also technically could count as a small town with a college. Oakwood is home to the Gainesville Campus of North Georgia State University.

I don't know if Rome is considered "small", but I went to a wedding downtown and was impressed with it. Seemed quaint, but not abandoned. Good bones.

I also like how Milledgeville and Georgia College seamlessly blend together in their downtown.

Kennesaw.....

kidding. I do like Rome a lot though, it has a lot of things going for it, not the least of which is good COL. Admittedly, as a transplant I haven't been to many of these towns yet despite my love of travel and small towns.

I did like what Cleveland had going for it, even though the university itself looks kind of ugly when I passed it. NGS in Dahlonega also looked nice a quaint, while still being close to the cities when needed.
