A family member just purchased property in GA in Lee County. He lives in another state and didn't actually view the property. In looking at satellite images, he's right near Stroud Road, and there seems to be possibly a dump there? I can't figure out what it is but it looks like a pit with many mounds and I'm just very curious. Does anyone in the area know what's there?

I'm pretty sure that's not currently a dump. It is entirely possible, however, that it once was a dump that has undergone some efforts of remediation, which is what we could be seeing in this aerial imagery.

The aerial view shown in google earth probably dates back 15 years. The latest google streetview from Helen St, on the southern boundary of that plot, shows that a tree line has since grown in.

I've lived in this part of Lee county most of my life. If my memory serves me correctly, this area you are referring to was a dirt borrow pit at one time. The county owns this land, and it appears that they are in the process of filling in the depression where the dirt was taken. I don't ever remember it being an active dump.
