I

My skin color is no more than an adjective used to describe my morphology. It does not define who I am. I live in Paulding County and because of the lower prices in businesses and County levies we are actually now lower middle class and not in the poverty bracket. School and education suck in Georgia I would go out and shovel s*** to make enough to enroll them in a non-public learning institution. Homes are not extravagant but are nice . Taxes are low and there's not a lot of crime. Health care is improving and my oncologist and my other doctors have offices in the medical building. Health care is important to us because of some serious disorders we have to be close enough to access the specialists and some have opened offices near us, we are getting a new hospital which is sorely needed. Shopping at all the regular stores is less than 10 minutes. The development of the Dallas and Paulding county will hopefully entice more small business is. About the racist comment:
"Free your mind, and the rest will follow. BE COLORBLIND, don't be so SHALLOW." words that make me examine my own beliefs is by a very great man with an extraordinary vision and ahead his time says do the right thing with these words so eloquently delivered.
"I have a dream that one day my four children will be judged not by the color of their skin, but on the content of their character." These words remind me of who I am and how I can make me a better person all around." Just do the right thing I don't understand. isn't the Accuser a racist too? Why isn't it as simple as telling yourself to do the right thing every day.
Paulding County also is the home of country star Travis Tritt. If that won't draw people to Paulding County nothing will! Just joking

I am African American and moved to Paulding County, Dallas, Georgia in August of 2006. We saw our home on the internet and thought I thought the color was rather loud, something told me to go and see the house. We loved it. But when we came out to see the house, all I could see were dirty looking, ragged trucks, with grungy-looking white men with confederate flags on the back of their trucks. We were concerned.

As we stood on the driveway with our realtor, waiting for the seller's agent to come and unlock the doors, we heard a loud thump and turned around to see the garage door across the street from our home open. A mean looking white man walked across the yawn, looking like he could just kill us.

We asked our agent if it was prejudiced and racist out here. She said she did not think so, as had that been the case, she would have seen the incidents of it on the internet. Another neighbor came across the street and introduced himself. He said welcome to the neighborhood and said that if anyone bothers us, they will do what they can to get them out of here. The next day, a police officer went to a home next door and told them to get rid of the confederate flag, as they were trying to attract more blacks to the neighborhood, not run them away.

We have been here since 2006 and just love it. It is quiet, with tranquil lakes and streams, and rolling hills and valleys, complete with cows and horses grazing. I've even seen deer and goats. It transcends you back to the olden days, because a couple of times we have forgotten to lock our doors and were gone all day but no one came in nor stole anything. We all sleep soundly at night and do not worry about people breaking in upon us.

The neighborhood is mixed racially and though we all mind our own business, we are there, ready to help each other when one of us needs help.

But like any place, you have to know what areas you can safely go in without incident. Stay out of the mountains and the old Dallas, Georgia areas, near the old court house. But with the new court house on hwy. 278, it is a nice, small town atmosphere and after the first year we went to guy our tags there, they have called us many times and said hello. We just love it. Hope this answers your question. The air out here is so clean and the stars so bright. Hope you come to Dallas, Georgia. With Kind Regards.
