I guess people who were planning on retiring but got laid off just weeks prior to retiring and now will claim unemployment benefits for many many months and will happily collect the money from the Government while complaining about anyone else receiving entitlements benefit pretty nicely.

What does that tell you?
That everyone likes their own horse. Not what the Dems want to hear.

I am not a fan of Trump, but it seems Trump is benefiting from this whereas Biden sits at home being Joe Biden.

Polls regarding Trump are not accurate. Most Trump fans almost never admit to like Trump because they do not want to offend those that are close by.

Here's my list in order of greatest to least degree of benefit.

1. Paper goods manufacturers
2. Funeral homes/funeral services
3. Amazon
4. Grocery stores
5. Anyone with a job in medical or something else essential
6. People who do not own any stocks
7. Employed people (just because looking for a job now is bad)
8. Anyone who has not gotten Coronavirus (same logic as #7, getting Coronavirus is bad)

"Out-of-network" medical services that bilk us into bankruptcy at the best of times are having an unsupervised heyday now.

I say the biggest beneficiary is families. I see families at sport events all the time, but I have seen far more in the past two weeks than normal. I just hope it continues on. Might fix some social panics and undisciplined children...

Trump has seen a rise but it isn't that high of one. Bush United America after 9/11, Trump continues to divide anytime he talks. I said in another post that his MO is to make comments that can intentionally be taken the wrong way just to make it fake news. He has done this countless times in his Covid-19 daily news briefings.

Any crisis news channels get that way. I rarely watch CNN during crisises (I have of late since daytime TV sucks in options) because it is all they talk about. A plane crash, they talk about it for weeks, despite days of other important news.

Then you have the batty contributers like most Fox News reporters and anchors and you have their misinformation. The mainstream media is take it or leave it, but this time they are keeping up fine. I watch ABC, NBC and CBS as well as CNN in the day during lags and all are doing good.

What does that tell you?

Yes though a number like Ducey and DeSantis are not doing enough. Even DiBlassio has sucked at it. That said governors have more of direct impact than a president in a state crisis. This is a state crisis happening nationwide.

Understand that now?

P.S. And, no, I have very thankfully never been on Unemployment, although my husband has.
Yeah and I'm not sure what that means for school workers in summer. I'm guaranteed a paycheck until when school closed in May, the week before Memorial Day. Usually I work a summer camp through my school district and that is up in the air.

While I am "working" I actually make less than the unemployment bonus from the federal givernment. Yet I am not furloughed so I cannot get it. Go figure out how that is fair. I'm doing more work as I'm going through guidelines have a few meetings and helping with lesson plans (if needed.)

Not many months, just as long as the government gravy train lasts. I don't blame them, I want to too. I mean it is double my current pay in the government check alone.

I believe ebay shut most of those sellers down.

I haven't tried to shop for TP, but I WAS trying to shop for disinfectant wipes. Every seller I clicked on, it was shut down. I think the same thing is happening with the TP.

Then best not be complaining about anyone else taking advantage of the "government gravy train" or "the swamp" or calling out anyone calling for any sort of government benefits socialists or communists.

If one needs it - that's one thing. If one is weeks away from a comfortable retirement and then plans to file for unemployment just to grab theirs from the government they are no better than so-called welfare queens or slimy politicians adding pork to bills or participating in insider trading.

And I'm not. Our bills don't go away with this. They simply are in hold if anything.

It doesn't sound like I'm addressing you. I'm not averse to people getting extended unemployment benefits when it's actually a real thing. I'm only addressing those who... are set to retire comfortably within weeks, and then got laid off. They were presumably already planning on living without that paycheck. To file for unemployment to pad their savings account is wrong.
