Asian American family with 3 children under 8, thinking of moving from NJ to Greensboro region for a new job opportunity that opened up. We visited a little while ago and the people seem friendly and found the city to be very beautiful.
In choosing where to live, the kids schools would be the foremost driving factor. We are looking for a strong school with a decent minority presence. Work commute or rental budget would not be a significant issue.
We are considering living in Oak Ridge, as the school seemed highly regarded and has an Asian student pop. of at least 5-10%. Should I be considering other locations/schools as well?
Other questions I had:
1. What would life be like as an Asian family living in Oak Ridge area? Same as most other suburbs? Anything to be aware of in that region?
2. Oak Ridge seems really close to the airport? Does anyone have insights on noise and air pollution in that area from the airport?
3. I'm also open to any additional advise/wisdom from the forum!
