Hi, my family and I are relocating from Long Island, NY to the Greenville area. We are checking Greer, Taylors, Blue Ridge and Travelers Rest areas. Travelers Rest is standing out above the rest, can anyone tell me alittle bit about living in the area? Thanks so much! Eileen
We had actually checked out Greenville alittle over 2 years ago. It seemed nice and the people for the most part were friendly. For land and school reasons we were focusing on Powdersville in Anderson County. If you have school aged children I would check out great schools . net for scores and subsidized lunches parents comments etc. I also became aware of that Greenville County was beginning to "bus" to even out racially/economically etc. It seems that it stirred up alot of controversy on all sides of the issues. I followed it in the newspaper on line and than it just seemed to go away. It just sticks in my mind but I don't know all the details. I know this isn't a huge help since I don't live there but I did get a nice feeling about the area. Sorry couldn't be more help but thought I let you know. We live in NJ now and can't wait to get out....lived in Tallahassee FL before moving back to NJ in 2001....The couple that bought our house in Tall. was from Long Island...that should have been my FIRST clue to not come back north....
PS THe reason we didn't move was due to family illnesses here, not Greenville.
We're considering moving to SC, too. Possibly around Norway. Trying to get some "people" information on the area. Paper will let you write anything on it, but people, for the most part, will tell you the truth. Have you had any luck getting information?
