Doesn't sound like too big of a deal to me. Certainly doesn't compare to eating worms, etc...
It's not like hair doesn't grow... and mine grows really fast.
If it looks too horrible, you can always wear a wig for a few months. Looks like it'll take me about a year to replace a full head of shoulder-length hair after another/last attempt after many years at a perm.
