I used the loreal color out on my daughter after color came out to dark. (almost black) So we used color out and turned her hair orangey red. Put other color over 2x and color didn't take washed right out. what should I do now. Should I have it professionally colored or wait like 6 months and recolor myself. thank you kindly for any advice

If you look on the box Loreal should have an 800 number, call them they have colorist on call and they will advise you with what to do. I have had problems in the past and they always helped me out... If not take her to a professional they will correct it.. Good luck

At this point I think you need to go to a professional colorist.

I tried to highlight my hair by myself once and bought one of those boxes and it turned my hair orange (like Ronald McDonald orange). I will never ever do that again. I only have a professional highlight/color my hair now.

I would go to a stylist immediately. With all those chemicals, you don't want to risk damaging her hair further, and unless she wants to walk around with orange hair for 6 months I would not advise waiting 6 months to try and fix it yourself.

I agree with the previous posters, to seek professional help immediately!
At this point, that hair will be damaged to a certain extent....no doubt!
I experimented around A LOT, with boxed hair colors (teenage years!) and ruined my hair numerous times.
The thing is, the hair is somewhat healthier when INFUSED with hair color, and hair pigments are deposited into the hair shaft.
The hair is going to hell, however, if it gets stripped of the color pigments....and that happens every time color is chosen lighter then the natural one, or from a deeper shade to a lighter one.
Do yourself a favor.....save the hair, and go to a beauty salon to do a color correction for you!
Don't experiment around at this point anymore....because the next try could backfire as well.
Maybe at this point the hair cuticles are so damaged, that each and every color you put in will "fall" out...no matter what color it might be, but you will damage the hair further to the point where it will break off and/ or fall out!
Good luck....been there, done that...it turned into nightmares sometimes.

Yes yes, you MUST seek professional help for coloring!

I remember reading in an InStyle magazine that when Selma Blair bleached her hair, it took four tries to get her hair died dark brown...
