I've colored my hair with Ion Color Brilliance's permanent color for years. Last year decided to stop for a while and have been using Fanciful Goldenspell. My roots are white and five inches long, the rest is eight inches of various absorbed color from some of the past permanent color and the rinse. Although this works great, I have to apply the rinse with a color brush to my shampoo and dried hair every time I wash my hair. It's not difficult, but I am thinking of going back to permanent color and using the Rinse on my roots between coloring.

I am growing out my gray right now. My hair is short so one more trim and the auburn color should be out. I just saw on the news last night of a possible link to hair color and cancer and I've been coloring for about 20 years AND I've had cancer twice so I picked a good time to stop coloring.

If I hate the way it looks I might just do a semi permanent color or add in a few darker lowlights.

How about semi permenant. Clairol Beautiful Collection - Advanced Gray Solution lasts up to 12 shampoos. You can get this online and also at Sally's.

Ion also has a semi-permanent line at Sally's but it might not last as long as the Clairol Advanced Gray.

I'm always afraid of temporary hair color coming off on my clothes.

Default Hair tingling after applying color...

I'm late getting back to read this post. I wanted to mention to poster who's hair tingled after applying color. Mine was doing that, too. It was one of the reasons I stopped coloring. I stayed away from color and my hair is a nice white (I'd rather it be dark gray, lol). I still have the fanciful colors. I apply streaks to my hair for depth. It washes out in a couple of washes. I use a color brush on it's edge to apply streaks to my dried hair.
