I use Revlon Color Stay burgundy. Been using that color for about 4 years. My hair is naturally medium brown. I do get my hair colored professionally maybe 2 times a year as a treat to myself because I cannot afford to do it every 4-6 weeks. The color comes out great and lasts like 4-6 weeks before my roots start to show gray again. I initially started coloring my hair because I wanted a change but the last 2 years more gray is showing. I am 52.
Chemical red washes right out. Waste of time and money IMO. If your hair is light you would benefit from using henna. I've been using it for well over a decade. Doesn't fade or way out, and it actually looks natural.
AS said, red doesn't last very long and it's one of those colors that should only be done in a professional setting with professional color.
I'll put my results with henna up against those of any professional stylist.
