What areas of the islands have the best weather? I'm guessing the leeward side (east) gets less rain. Correct?

In Hawai'i, the "leeward side" is usually on the south.
In terms of the "best" weather, it depends on what you prefer eg. heat and humidity, light breezes and rain, constant sunshine, etc.

i second jonah's post... it's subjective aye... for me i'd prefer the windward side... heaps of wind and rain. quite the contrary to the leeward side.

Leeward side may get less rain, but is also considerably warmer to live in. Most homes in the warmer leeward areas require air conditioning year round.
