How are folks holding up?

I appreciate the rain for keeping things cooler, but goodness! These past few days have been intense and quite treacherous out on the roads. Shocked that I haven't seen more accidents out and about with how badly HI drivers are even when it's not raining.

We haven't had nearly as much rain as was predicted here in West Maui. The good news for us is the large swell overnight brought our beach back.
It goes away every year and doesn't always return in time for the summer. I'm hoping it is now here to stay for the season.

That's good on both accounts

I will say that, while I still like the coolness of the rain here, the humidity associated with the rain isn't all that welcome

The lush green scenery approaching the H1-H201 eastbound merge this afternoon was quite beautiful, though.

I've had my air conditioning running for 2 days straight and hadn't used it in probably 6 months before now. Hot and humid out. Some rain would cool the air a bit.

From this storm, one station on the BI had over 19 inches of rain in 3 hours. THREE. HOURS.

I guess one's opinion of "rain intensity" is relative.
