I have had extreme pain in both my feet for years. I have numbness in both of my feet. Haven’t felt toes on both feet in years. I am not a diabetic and have had probably every test done. I have been on pain pills for years and it does help but not for long. I take 450mg of Lyrica and 180mg of Cymbalta daily and nothing has helped. I would love some suggestions !!

I have Fibromyalgia in the skin on my legs and feet and I have Diabetic Neuropothy in the same areas very bad. I take 2400mg or gabapentin as well as 4 asprin daily which just about keeps me from screaming all the time. It is worst at night and I often cannot get to sleep till 3 or 4 in the morning, which does not help my overall condition.
I would say you need a lot more Lyrica or gabapentin .
Have they checked you for neurological conditions and thyroid problems?

No diabetes? Do you know what brought this on? I have some from arthritis and a friend had/has PN for years from statins and I think she has undiagnosed diabetes. Since we're not supposed to talk alternatives here I'll send you a PM on what helped my friend and she got off the drugs she took for years and what helps me.

I have idiopathic peripheral neuropathy that started last May. In fact it only took a week for it to go from slight warmth on my feet to emergency room for searing pain. Like you I have been tested for everything under the sun. I have seen my primary care MD, a neurologist, and endocrinologist, a chiropractor, and an acupuncturist.
I take 65mg of amyltriptoline. It keeps the the severe pain at bay but it does not work all that well. I tried gabapentrin but the side effects are too severe for me. I wish I could tolerate it because it did work. I even tried grape seed extract as one poster recommends for just about everything. It did not do a thing. I took Vicodin when the pain got bad, but after awhile it stopped working and I refused to up my dose.
Peripheral neuropathy is one of the hardest things to treat. I am considering seeing a PN specialist at UCSF. Its a 3 month wait to see him.
I WISH I had better news for you.
For me, its not bad if I am off my feet. And walking is not bad either - but not for great distances. Standing is the worst.

I had a check up a month prior to this happening to me. I was at peak health. The doctor even commented on what good shape I was in.

Alpha lipoic acid helped my neuropathy. I'm not taking any pain meds for it anymore and not having any pain like burning or even the little crawling sensations.

I looked it up and it seems its for neuropathy brought on by diabetes, which I do not have. I will bring it up with neurologist in a few weeks.
I am skeptical of pretty much everything right now because I have hit such a huge roadblock. I have spent thousands of dollars on drugs, supplements, tests, and procedures and nothing has worked.

I have terrible neuropathy in my left calf and would love suggestions as well. Gabapentin didn't work for me either. Just started Lyrica and hoping it helps! My neuropathy is idiopathic as well.

This neuropathy for MOST seems to be mysterious unless once really has diabetes and some nerve damage is from some drugs like statins as I know a friend from this one.

Some management people here talk about CIRCULATION. the antioxidant I talk about works majorally on circulation and I've been taking higher doses in recent weeks to get more relief to my feet. I believe mine is from OA but circulation could be the issue too.

I may have something in Alt Med section on circulation and neuropathy and if I don't I'll make a post soon.

It's most commonly talked about in diabetes forums, but that's because diabetics are the most common group who deal with neuropathy. A lot of people with neuropathy caused by MCAS take it also. It's inexpensive...I pay $6 for 60 capsules and take one a day. It's best taken with food because it can cause heartburn or stomach upset.
