Well Not going to believe this IT went AWAY! Been gone 6 months now! I kept pulling the tip of my finger & gently rubbing the bump....mostly cause it hurt! And 1 day it POPPED Back in place!!!
Sorry I could not manage to attach a photo of the many, many nodules I have on the fingers of both hands. I also have nodules on the soles (ouch!) and sides of both feet, and inside the calves of my legs (can be felt, but not seen). Yes they all hurt, to varying degrees, and worse sometimes than at other times. I have so many that some are always hurting somewhere. So count your blessings my dear. One does not impress me!
Well, I guess all of the above have answered my question. Mine is on my middle finger and I just thought is was payback for waving hello to a lot of moron drivers on the road!
I would suggest that the Op have some blood tests done for RA factors. Rheumatoid arthritis can be evidenced by cyst nodules and it's occurrence can come and go . It has the potential to be a severely debilitating disease if not treated, even more so than osteoarthritis since it is an autoimmune disease.
My Doctor told me it was the sack that holds the oily fluid between the joint. Some form of RA. He also told me not to pop it...well last month I did. The fluid felt oily & tasted yecky. Anyway the joint it self doent hurt but the bump does.
Anyone know what I can do to make it go away?
Tasted? I hope this doesn't sound bad, but, why did you taste it?

Was Not trying to impress Anyone! I just wanted to know What it was!
I Was tested for Ra Negative.
Yes I popped it thinking it was a blister.... When it tasted yecky I showed it to my dr.... All he said was the Fluid Oil sack between joints
BTW It still not come back Nor have I got any more!!
I had a small lump on my middle finger ,right on the joint and it was very painful to touch. I tried everything to get rid of this, then i started putting Watkin Salve on it everynite with a bandage, I did this for a week.It has gotten small and doesnt hurt anymore. Ive been using this salve for a long time on burns and cuts. You can order this online, its worth the money. Try it.

Forget popping it yourself after Doc said don't do it, why the hell would you taste it?
Popping it could lead to serious infections. Go see a hand specialist to have it surgically opened and cleaned!!!!!!!
I went to the hand specialist who did a surgical procedure not simply to remove the cyst but also to close where the joint fluid was leaking from. This was a year ago. I saw a dermatologist before I went to the hand specialist and he diagnosed it but sent me to hand specialist for treatment.
