I'd absolutely use a pro.
There are some very good re-glazers out there and the really good ones do an excellent job. The thing is, you really need to do a lot of research to see which ones are the REALLY Good ones. I know there's one around here that people--- continue to rave about over the years. I also know in my DD's house, the tub on the 3rd floor was reglazed (it's rarely used) and it's peeling.

Personally I'd use an epoxy-based paint. In theory, it would adhere better and be more scratch resistant.

That’s what “reglazers” use!

I wonder if it would look best if you also line paint the grout a slightly different color?

With both the tile and the grout painted the same color it would look totally like a cheap fix to me.

What would “look best” is to NOT paint tile at all!

Considering both the tile and the grout painted the same color might give off a cheap appearance. Perhaps painting the grout a slightly different color could enhance the overall look and add depth to the design. It's worth experimenting with different options to achieve the desired aesthetic.
