Guess I can't find the right search words to google an answer so maybe somebody here can tell me.
With an outside AC/Heat unit (electric), will the heater function even if the AC part does not?
Are they separate or interconnected functions?
I'll tell you why I am asking, which may help with the answer.
The coils on the AC are starting to frost up.Everything still works well but we're being cautioned that this thing is on its last legs.
We don't use the AC often so are thinking of getting window units for AC as long as we could still have this one provide heat when needed.
I finally got my own question answered and the answer, in case anyone needs it, is No, it is not a 'split unit ' so both functions are dependent on everything working correctly.
